This Autogard torque limiter series XG has been specially developed for applications on extrusion lines. Twin-screw extruders and the associated gears are extremely endangered due to the very high specific load with the smallest center distances in the event of sudden overloads. Load separation is essential to protect these components. The AUTOGARD series XG torque limiter are available in different versions: Type M: with flexible Wrapflex coupling for the shortest overall length. Type R: with flexible Wrapflex coupling but with a radially removable torque limiter. Sizes 1+2 are designed as a compact coupling based on the ball-and-socket principle, while sizes 3+4 are modular. Large torques in the smallest installation space can be safeguarded with sizes 3+4. Both sizes are based on the well-proven modular technology (see Autogard torque limiter series 820), the limiter part and the elastic inner part of the shaft coupling can be lifted out radially without dismantling the coupling in the event of service.
